The Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, delighted to share with you the latest edition of Dialogue with Duclos, a stakeholder series with updates on recent Employment and Social Development Canada programs, services and activities.

The edition attached features:

  • An update on the Canadian Poverty Reduction Strategy consultations

They encourage you to host your own community discussion on the poverty strategy and gather feedback from members of your community. To help out, they’ve developed a kit with the materials you’ll need to host your own discussion. It provides templates and tools for organizing and promoting your discussion as well as capturing and submitting the results.

The kit attached includes:

  • Agenda
  • Invitation
  • Discussion Notes Template
  • Social Media Promotion
  • Background information: Towards a Poverty Reduction Strategy Summary

After your discussion, they encourage you to send the results to povertyreduction@canada.gc.ca. Feel free to also send them photos and important quotes you heard. Your input will help shape the Poverty Reduction Strategy which will benefit people living in poverty across the country.

Together, they can ensure that every Canadian has the opportunity to reach their full potential and support their family and community.
